Raphaela Vogel's latest exhibition features a wall of cameras that catch visitors unaware.

One prominent Swiss newspaper claimed that he "condemns Israel" as a result, but many artists disagreed.

Its current director, Josef Helfenstein, is retiring.

"The big reveal in the show deals with my sleep apnea, which happened well into the show's planning," she said.

"I do want to trouble, not always with a negative connotation, but to just to unsettle a little," the artist said.

Her new show "Hic et Nunc" at the Kunsthalle Basel reflects on a recent major trauma.
