Harrison Jacobs

Harrison Jacobs joined ARTnews and Art in America as digital director in 2022. As a reporter, editor, and photojournalist, he has covered national news, politics, culture, technology, and global issues for outlets including NPR, Vice News, the Washington Post, the Markup, and the Verge. He previously served as Insider’s first international correspondent, reporting on global technology, international affairs, and culture in China, Nigeria, Israel/Palestine, Kenya, Korea, and elsewhere. He served additionally as the publication’s deputy news editor, overseeing editorial teams covering breaking news, politics, and foreign affairs. His reporting has covered the deleterious effects of ride-hailing apps on centuries-old traditions in Bali, the massive grassroots campaign to elect a groundbreaking progressive district attorney in Philadelphia, and an activist battle to shut down Baltimore’s polluting trash incinerator, which disproportionately affected communities of color. He is a graduate of Tufts University (BA) and the London School of Economics (MS). He can be reached at HJacobs@artnews.com
